The highlight of our week was most definitely our Fish Release at McLean Pond. It was such an amazing experience! We definitely want to thank Ms. Rooke and our fantastic volunteers because they helped Mrs. Cooper and Ms. Bouchard make this wonderful trip possible. Here is what some of our classmates had to say about the day: “When we were releasing the fish, we couldn’t just let them go into the water. We had to check to make sure the water was clean enough for them to live in. We tested the turbidity, the pH, dissolved oxygen and the temperature. When we were releasing the fish we also had to put the pond water into the baggie so they could get used to the water.” – a grade 3 student It was really fun when we were releasing the fish, but we couldn’t just put them in the pond because they needed to acclimatize.
